Alright, here are some minor details I thought about while laying in bed, unable to sleep at like 2 in the morning. They don't really need to have their own thread each, so I figured I could just clump little things like this into one "details" section. I will make amends to this as things are brought up and pointed out. So if you have an idea or a question, make sure to bring it up!
Here we go!
1) Language
At this point I think it would be best to have the human race all speak and be fluent in one common language. Not to say that there aren't other languages among planets and sectors. But about 99% of all people are at least fluent in one "Common Tongue". I don't care what anyone thinks it is. It's just what people speak. Makes it easier.
2) Technology
Obviously in the future technology is greatly advanced. It has to be in order for life to exist on all planets (Pluto will always be a planet to me!). I don't know how many of you will be sci-fi savvy, knowing what an anti-gravity field is generated from, or how artificial gravity is maintained. I watched too much Stargate, and I know what things are called. That's about it. If you know physics details then feel free to go to town with the techno-lingo. Otherwise we'll just have to rely on our imaginations.
I'm pretty sure that d**n near anything exists. If you're unsure, ask and we'll all mull it over together. I don't want this to turn into Star Trek/Star Wars with omg lazerspewpewpew~, but there will be a degree of techno-science we will not be able to escape. Let's just not get too silly here. -_-;
Please keep the robots and androids to a dull roar. >_<
3) Travel
Space travel, wooo! Anyone ever watch The 5th Element? Did you see how JFK airport was turning into a giant space station for inter-space travel? Yeah, that was really cool. I'm thinking that. Ships/shuttles replaced planes that transport people from planet to planet, some businesses have their own ships for transportation, and personal ships are expensive, but not uncommon.
Mass transportation would also be a huge thing. Saves on fuel/energy and cost. Ya?
4) Senshi: Awakened vs. Unawakened
The Senshi and Knights at the beginning of the game start as unawakened to their powers. However, senshi and knights are allowed to "feel" each other as they are the descendants of the original cannon senshi. Sensing something "strange" or "familiar" about another character is perfectly understandable and expected, especially once awakened senshi/knights start to get the hang of their powers.
Senshi and Knights do not have to awaken under extreme circumstances, or under duress. They can awaken in a dream, by accident, screwing around, in a fight, etc. Whatever you feel fits your character's personality the best. Though keep in mind when each character first awakens they will have limited control and knowledge about their newly discovered powers, so jumping right into the thick of battle with an arsenal of multiple attacks is not only unrealistic, it would just be a bad idea.
What they do with this power is also up to you. As Cannon Sailor Venus was the movie star/ super hero Sailor V, if you wish to do something different with their powers at first that is absolutely fine. Be in commercials, endorse products, fight crime, have a tv show... sure! Ok! Sounds good, just let the Mods know and remember that the senshi will not be received wonderfully by all. They would be seen as nothing more then "characters' and "personas", not actual heroes.
Which brings us into...
5) The System's Evil Presence
The main conflict in the system is the civil war on Neptune between two sides of its vast military power and naval forces. Two sides are fighting this war, and one is looking to establish a serious military presence and power in the system over the planets. Of course, finding the Crystal Kingdom and setting Moon's good force upon the throne would seriously throw a kink into this plan, this will be the main opposition to the Senshi.
As Toby is leading the main bad-guy here, Novarin, all bad-guy affiliates to this war should go through her. As such, one of the main resources for help, guidance, encouragement and back up on the home-front will be Dr. Maso Dunia (who had a deep connection to a now-deceased military general) played by myself. Any NPC or character that would be affiliated with his goals of helping the senshi should be run by me. Honestly, we would love a whole slew of characters involved in this story! Your ideas would be very much welcomed!
This will not be the only evil force the senshi encounter, but it will be the long standing, constant force. other evil forces in the galaxy would see this as a perfect opportunity to infiltrate and secure positions among this side of the war to ensure their dominance over the system. There are also those who seek the power of the Kingdom for themselves. To quote Dune, "He who controls the spice, controls the universe!". (Wow, please excuse my nerdiness...) Therefore, the power that controls the throne, controls the galaxy.
6) The Search
This game was based on a lot of lore and mythology. There will be clues, stories, artifacts and research in the search for the Kingdom. Any lore or mythology you choose to bring into the story is more then welcomed! Small stories of the Moon you want to create as "Mythology" is highly encourage and can be posted in the Creative thread (like the stories of the Greek and Roman gods, Camelot, etc.). Feel free to PM myself or Neko with any ideas so we can be sure no stories are contradictory or could be confusing.
Finding artifacts, or having family heirlooms that could be remnants of the Old Moon Kingdom is also fine. Just make sure to let us know ahead of time before they are brought into the game!
